Through the hard work of arts advocates throughout Eastern Iowa, The Gazette launched Excellence in the Arts in 2023 to create an experience that would celebrate high school students making incredible contributions in the visual arts, digital arts, spoken and written word, and performing arts. This program includes telling the stories of student artists-all leading up to an afternoon of celebration that will present students with achievement awards while providing a night for patrons to take in a variety of student-led exhibits, performances, and more.
Student and Youth Advocate nominations for Excellence in the Arts run through January 20th, with the announcement of honorees and plans for the March community event.
The arts are strong in Eastern Iowa. Thank you for supporting the next generation of artists and the mentors, advocates who support their dreams. Keep creating!
